Bulgaria is the only country that wants to force its way into the euro area, Vazrazhdane said in a statement in Parliament, adding that they are holding a protest on Saturday.
MP Tsoncho Ganev said: "Today decisions will be taken again that will bring us in the most dishonourable way with falsifications, with artificial data to a place from where we cannot get out". He noted that there is no procedure for leaving the euro area. In his words, perhaps the only rescue will be when "the EU and the eurozone collapse from within".
"We are the only ones who want to force our way in there. Many richer countries than Bulgaria are currently refusing to join the eurozone. Look at Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, not to mention the Scandinavian countries where there were referendums on Eurozone accession," Ganev said.
“Entering the euro area, we will witness another brutal robbery,” commented Ganev. "You have to look at what is happening in neighbouring Croatia - double inflation, double prices of everything, in just one year, and Bulgaria was supposed to join the eurozone with Croatia. Only the fact that we continue to be the poorest country in the EU has saved us.
"Releasing more than BGN 70 billion from the currency board reserve one part will go to support the European Central Bank and the euro area, but another part remains at the disposal of the current government,” said Ganev.
“When Vazrazhdane is the only party to say a categorical ‘no’ in Parliament - the only thing left to do is take to the streets,” said Ganev. At 12 pm on Saturday in front of the building of the Bulgarian National Bank BNB there will be a nationwide protest where everyone can express their categorical refusal to be brought into the eurozone, he added.
