GERB-UDF top-of-the-list candidate in Veliko Tarnovo Kostadin Angelov met with residents of the village of Belyakovets on Thursday.

During the meeting, Angelov said that water as a resource and quality water supply are the main priorities of the party in regional policy. He pointed out that nearly 35,000 residents in Veliko Tarnovo Region are suffering from the adversities of water shortage, adding that the problem has been swept under the rug of the so-called Continue the Change for the last three and a half years.

"The autumn rains should not deceive anyone that water will begin to flow from people's taps in the 26 settlements in the region where there is water shortage," Angelov said. 

He noted that the programme of GERB-UDF includes measures to solve the water scarcity problems, and gave examples like the restart of investments in the water and sanitation infrastructure, the rehabilitation of old water pipes with losses up to 80%; construction of new dams and more.
