Bulgaria’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Ivan Kondov, conferred with Germany’s Ambassador to this country, Irene Maria Plank, here on Thursday.

The sides praised the bilateral relations between Bulgaria and Germany and highlighted the importance of continuing their fruitful cooperation in various regional and international formats.

Kondov and Plank discussed Bulgaria's participation in the Berlin Process and the upcoming high-level meetings on the occasion of the initiative’s tenth anniversary. Ambassador Plank presented an invitation for the Berlin Process Meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, which will take place on October 1 in Berlin. Kondov thanked the German side for the consistent support for Bulgaria's foreign policy priorities and the active political dialogue at all levels.

Issues related to the Schengen area and the upcoming early parliamentary elections were also discussed during the meeting.

The sides agreed that bilateral dialogue should be enhanced and cooperation in all areas of mutual interest deepened.
