The seaside airports in Varna and Burgas will aim to improve their passengers' experience by introducing the environmentally sustainable Gate Garden concept in early summer, the concessioner Fraport Twin Star Airport Management, which operates the two airports, reported on Monday. The concept includes the construction of open terraced green spaces characterized by a low carbon footprint, natural ventilation, and sunlight.
Fraport's website reads that the project will provide a "one-of-a-kind customer experience for all passengers and guests at Varna Airport and Burgas Airport through new innovative retail, relaxation, and recreation areas". Fraport CEO Dr Frank Quante added: "I am very proud of this creative and innovative investment project! Especially as the idea and the concept were developed from our team in an excellent way!"
