The Central Operations Bureau of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) has confirmed its support for Prime Minister-designate Rosen Zhelyazkov’s government proposal. Meeting on Wednesday, the Bureau made a decision to reaffirm an agreement reached between the leadership of the Democracy, Rights and Freedoms – DRF parliamentary group and other political forces in the 51st National Assembly to back the formation of a parliamentary majority in support of Zhelyazkov’s cabinet, the press office of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms led by Ahmed Dogan said on Facebook on Wednesday.

"The MRF officially expresses its support for Zhelyazkov's proposed cabinet, which will be pledged by the party’s MPs during a vote in the National Assembly" on Thursday, the statement read. The decision reflects a commitment to political responsibility and a desire for stability in the governance of the country. The aim is to ensure effective dialogue, stable governance in the interest of the public, as well as normal functioning of institutions, the statement added.

The MRF expressed its readiness to cooperate in achieving these goals, stressing that Bulgaria needs a strong and functioning regular government amid numerous challenges facing its institutions, the MRF led by Dogan noted.

The decision practically reconfirms an announcement by Democracy, Rights and Freedoms, the parliamentary group of Dogan's MRF faction, of January 14 that it would back a cabinet of GERB-UDF, BSP - United Left and There Is Such a People when it is put to the vote in the National Assembly.
