Daniel Mitov was born on December 4, 1977. Mitov holds a degree in Political Science from the St Kliment Ohridski University of Sofia and specialized in Political Skills at New Bulgarian University. Since 2006, Mitov has served as Executive Director of the Democracy Foundation.

He served as foreign minister in Georgi Bliznashki’s caretaker cabinet (2014) and in Boyko Borissov’s second cabinet (2014-2017). Served as MP in the 45th, 46th, 47th, 48th, 49th, 50th and 51st National Assemblies. GERB deputy leader since May 13, 2021.
