Due to the increased interest in travelling on the destination Rudozem - Xanthi, the General Directorate of Border Police to the Ministry of Interior informed that construction works are being carried out on the Greek side of the road. The Greek authorities have erected signs indicating that the area is a construction site and no outsiders are allowed on the site, the Bulgarian border Police said on its website. The traffic information at Bulgarian border crossings is as of 6 am on Wednesday.

Only cars and vans up to 3.5 tonnes are allowed to pass through the border crossings in the area of Makaza, Zlatograd and Ivaylovgrad.

On January 8, 2025, the major repair works on the Bulgarian section of the Danube Bridge at Ruse were resumed, which is why a temporary traffic organization has been introduced.

Traffic is normal at all border crossing points with North Macedonia, Serbia and Turkiye.

Temporarily, the crossing of the Malko Tarnovo border crossing point will be carried out on one route due to the reconstruction of the checkpoint.
