He was born on August 6, 1973 in Gabrovo, according to the parliamentary website. He was a member of the 42nd, 43rd, 44th, 45th, 46th, 47th, 48th, 49th, 50th and 51st National Assemblies. 

Tomislav Donchev was deputy prime minister in two governments, in the period 2014-2021, MEP in 2014, MP in 2013-2014, minister for management of EU funding in 2010-2013. He has also served as mayor of Gabrovo in 2007-2010, according to the GERB website.

Donchev has journalistic and teaching experience, as well as more than ten years of experience in the preparation and management of EU projects in the fields of regional and economic development, education and social sphere.

He is also the deputy chairman of GERB.
