site.btaTop Priority of Proposed Zhelyazkov Cabinet: Progress to Eurozone Entry, Stabilizing Institutions and Restoring Inter-Institutional Dialogue
As he spoke to the press after announcing his proposal for the structure and composition of a cabinet, Prime Minister-designate Rosen Zhelyazkov said that its top priority will be requesting a convergence report as part of the procedure to eurozone accession, the 2025 budget, stabilizing the institutions and restoring inter-institutional dialogue.
Asked to comment the nomination of Daniel Mitov, a former Foreign Minister, for Interior Minister in his cabinet, Zhelyazkov said that the Interior Ministry has a political and professional leadership.
Questioned if the new majority will elect a new Parliament leader, he said the matter is not on the agenda.
The current parliamentary leader, Nataliya Kiselova, was nominated by the Socialists and elected in a difficult compromise in the legislature.
Zhelyazkov said the government will submit a 2025 budget bill "when the Finance Ministry is ready".
