The Government has ensured that older people with chronic illnesses and long-term disabilities in northwest Bulgaria will continue to receive health and social services from mobile teams in their homes and remotely via telecare in 2025. For this purpose, the Council of Ministers adopted a decree approving additional transfers to the budgets of the municipalities of Vidin, Montana, Belogradchik, Oryahovo, Byala Slatina, Krivodol and Vratsa, which implemented programme for community-based care for people with chronic diseases and permanent disabilities in 2024.

In May 2024 the cabinet allocated BGN 720, 000 to the seven municipalities for the implementation of the activities under the measure. With the adoption of the government decree, they will be able to provide health and social services until the unspent funds under the programme are exhausted.

By another decision, the government ensured the continuation of the programme in 2025.

Thus, the elderly people with chronic diseases and permanent disabilities included in the procedure will continue to receive care until the unused funds of the programme are exhausted.
