Sports, Tourism Ministers Attend FIS Snowboard World Cup Opening Ceremony in Pamporovo

Sports Minister Dimitar Iliev attended the opening ceremony of the FIS Snowboard World Cup in Pamporovo on Friday. The event will take place on Saturday and Sunday featuring a total of 97 competitors from 16 countries.

"The hosting of this event is a great honour and responsibility for our country. I congratulate the team of the Bulgarian Ski Federation, which with its hard work has proven that it can organize great competitions and has thus earned the trust of the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS). I am confident that all competitors will give their best. I wish success to our athletes as well," Iliev said.

Bulgaria will be represented by 10 snowboarders. The star of the team is the 2016 World Cup winner Radoslav Yankov. The gold medalists from the FIS Snowboard Junior World Championships 2023 Tervel Zamfirov and Petar Gergyovski will also take part, as well as the silver medalist from the same event Alexander Krashniak and Kristian Georgiev who finished fourth. The other Bulgarian representatives at the World Cup will be Teodora Pencheva, Dimitar Ganchev, Georgi Milchev, Stanislav Vangelov and Petar Gyosharkov.

The official opening was also attended by the Tourism Minister Zaritza Dinkova and Bulgarian Ski Federation Tseko Minev.
