Bulgarian Exports to EU Down by 1.4% in January, Exports to Non-EU Countries Up by 0.3%

Sofia, April 13 (BTA) - Exports from Bulgaria to other EU countries in January 2016 amounted to 2,262,700,000 leva, decreasing by 1.4 per cent compared with January 2015, according to early estimates published by the National Statistical Institute on Wednesday.

Imports from the EU to Bulgaria totalled 2,263,000,000 leva (in CIF prices), decreasing by 2.1 per cent.

The balance of Bulgaria's trade with other EU countries in January 2016 was minus 300,000 leva (exports in FOB prices, imports in CIF prices). In FOB/FOB prices, the balance was plus 162,000,000 leva.

Bulgarian exports to non-EU countries between January and February 2016 amounted to 2,360,000,000 leva, increasing by 0.3 per cent compared with January-February 2015. In February 2016 alone, Bulgarian exports to non-EU countries stood at 1,195,000,000 leva, decreasing by 4.9 per cent compared with February 2015.

Imports from non-EU countries to Bulgaria between January and February 2016 totalled 2,427,000,000 leva (in CIF prices), falling by 17.7 per cent compared with January-February 2015. In February 2016 alone, imports from non-EU countries amounted to 1,223,000,000 leva, falling by 17.7 per cent compared with February 2015.

The balance of Bulgaria's trade with non-EU countries between January and February 2016 stood at minus 66,900,000 leva (exports in FOB prices, imports in CIF prices). In FOB/FOB prices, the balance was plus 96,500,000 leva. In February 2016 alone, the balance of Bulgaria's trade with non-EU countries was minus 27,800,000 leva (exports in FOB prices, imports in CIF prices).
