Sofia, May 31 (BTA) - None of the members of Bulgaria's diplomatic mission were hurt by a powerful car bomb that exploded in the diplomatic quarter of the Afghan capital Kabul at 8:30 a.m. local time, the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday. The blast damaged the building of the Bulgarian Embassy and other nearby buildings, shattering windows and blowing doors off their hinges.

Deputy Foreign Minister Georg Georgiev specified to bTV that all five members of the diplomatic mission were in the embassy building when the bomb went off some 500 m away but escaped unhurt. They will be temporarily evacuated to the British Embassy.

The Ministry does not have information that the attack specifically targeted the Bulgarian mission. LI/LG
