Sofia, June 2 (BTA) - Bulgaria offers to host next year, amid its Presidency of the EU Council, a debate on the EU cohesion policy at the highest level, said here Friday the Minister in charge of the Bulgarian Presidency of the EU in 2018, Liliyana Pavlova. She was speaking during a debate on a White Paper on the Future of Europe, organized by the European Economic and Social Committee and Bulgaria's Economic and Social Council.

Such a debate will invite the ministers in charge of regional cohesion, representatives of the European Committee of Regions, the European Parliament and the European Commission. The idea is to adopt a pact or a declaration to map out a vision on the matter, Pavlova explained.

She also said that a debate is needed to propose ways for streamlining the procedures, identify the financial instruments that will be available and make sure they reach people and businesses. LY/LN/
