Eleven Parties, Five Coalitions, 14 Nominating Committees Registered for Presidential Elections

Sofia, September 29 (BTA) - Eleven parties, five coalitions and 14 nominating committees. The deadline for the registration of presidential candidates is by 5 pm on October 4, said Kamelia Neikova, a spokesperson for the Central Election Commission on Thursday.

Twenty-one parties, one coalition and six nominating committees were registered for the November 6 presidential elections.

So far nine presidential pairs have filed applications to run in the elections.

The Commission registered nine parties, three coalitions and 22 committees for participation in the information campaign for the national referendum.

In the previous referendum 30 parties, one coalition and eight committees were registered.

By October 1, mayors should finish consultations to appoint the sectional polling sections. By October 5 CEC should send information about the struck off parties and the changes in the lineup and the names of the coalitions as well as information about coalitions and nominating committees. CEC should adopt rules for media coverage of the campaign. On October 5 CEC assigns by drawing lots ballot numbers and the order of appearance of candidates during the election campaign.

By October 6, CEC should promulgate a list of the registered presidential pairs in the State Gazette.
