President of Saudi Commission for Tourism, National Heritage Explores Investment Opportunities in Bulgaria's Tourism

Sofia, October 8 (BTA) - Tourism Minister Nikolina Angelkova has acquainted Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud with opportunities to invest in Bulgarian tourism, her Ministry said on Saturday.

Prince Sultan, who is president of the Board of Directors of the Commission for Tourism and National Heritage of Saudi Arabia, arrived on an official visit here at Angelkova's invitation. He led a large delegation of businessmen and representatives of the government sector.

Within the framework of his visit Prince Sultan visited some of Sofia's landmarks.
He was invited to attend a congress on world civilizations and modern tourism, organized by the Bulgaria Tourism Ministry and the World Tourism Organization in November.

Minister Angelkova outlined opportunities to invest in mountain and SPA tourism, including a development project for the Borovets ski resort. The Minister noted that 2016 will be a record year for Bulgarian tourism and that the industry needs more high-end hotels. Figures suggest that four- and five-star hotels have a very high occupancy rate and the season on the seaside gets longer.

The Prince was acquainted with Bulgaria's main advantages as an investment destination: low taxes, financial stability, more than 44 billion euro in investments in 20 years and 27 projects in the field of tourism that were promoted by the state.

During his visit Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud met with President Rosen Plevneliev, Prime Minister Boyko Borissov, Sofia Mayor Yordanka Fandakova and Deputy Foreign Minister Valentin Poryazov. The Prince extended an invitation for a Bulgarian delegation to visit Saudi Arabia to continue work on issues of interest.
