site.btaEconomy Minister Bogdanov Participates in Ministerial Meeting on European Solar Photovoltaic Industry

Economy and Industry Minister Bogdan Bogdanov participated in an online ministerial meeting on the European Solar Photovoltaic (PV) industry with European Commissioner for the Internal Market Thierry Breton, and other EU economy ministers, said the Economy Ministry on Friday.

It is important to ensure affordable electricity prices for businesses so that they maintain and build on their competitiveness, said Bogdanov.

The state of photovoltaic systems (PV) in the member countries was discussed during the meeting in order to examine the current challenges and possible solutions to bring solar PV production back to Europe. Representatives of the  European Solar PV Industry Alliance also took part. Emphasis was placed on increasing the value of European production. 

Minister Bogdanov said that the countries must be united and act together in making important decisions for Europe, taking into account the available resources and advantages of each country. He pointed out that the goals set in Europe for the green transition should not be at the expense of businesses.

The meeting was held under the auspices of the European Solar PV Industry Alliance and was hosted by Commissioner Breton.

The meeting was attended by ministers from the European Union, as well as representatives of the European Investment Bank and the European photovoltaic sector.
