Zoran Milanovic won a second term in office as President of Croatia after a run-off election on Sunday. He garnered 74.68% of the vote, according to information based on 100% of tally sheets, while the runner-up, Dragan Primorac, supported by the ruling Croatian Democratic Union, received 25,32%. That was a record margin between presidential candidates in a run-off election in the country.

Milanovic, supported by the largest opposition political force Social Democratic Party, received 1,122,859 votes against 380,752 for Primorac. The runner-up received the fewest votes compared to all candidates who lost in a second round in the history of the presidential elections in Croatia, the local media noted.

The voter turnout on Sunday was 44.18% - the lowest turnout since Croatia separated from former Yugoslavia.
