site.btaRoad Infrastructure Agency: 508 Snowplows Ensure Safe Travel in Winter Conditions

A total of 508 snowplows are working to ensure safe road travel in winter conditions, said the Road Infrastructure Agency on Monday.

Continuing snowfall is reported in the regions of Burgas, Stara Zagora, Blagoevgrad, Plovdiv, Sofia, Smolyan, Pernik, Varna, Kardzhali, Yambol, Kyustendil, Haskovo and Pazardzhik. Traffic may be temporarily restricted where necessary until the weather conditions improve and the roads are cleared.

Due to heavy snowfall, the movement of heavy goods vehicles is temporarily restricted on part of second-class and third-class roads in some regions of the country, including Kardzhali, Haskovo, Pazardzhik, Blagoevgrad and Stara Zagora.

The Road Infrastructure Agency appeals to drivers to drive only cars prepared for winter conditions, to drive at a responsible speed during these conditions and to not undertake risky maneuvers.
