Bulgarian Labour and Social Policy Minister Borislav Gutsanov said that he will propose to the Council of Ministers the allocation of Easter bonuses for pensioners. Gutsanov was speaking to the media on Monday, before his participation in a forum, titled "Quality Jobs and Fair Wages in the Focus of Trade Unions from EU Candidate Countries" organized by the Podkrepa Confederation of Labour.
Gutsanov said that the proposal will be discussed with political parties, and the decision will depend on the budget's revenue collection. "My opinion is that there should be Easter bonuses," he said, expressing hope that the proposal would be supported by Parliament.
Regarding relations with the Democracy, Rights and Freedoms - MRF (DRF-MRF) and their potential impact on the ruling coalition, Gutsanov stated that the main focus of the Government is to ensure no social groups are left without support in 2025. He recalled that despite a budget deficit of BGN 18 billion, all social benefits will be paid.
The Minister thanked his coalition partners and noted that each party has taken risks to find solutions through dialogue.
As for possible appointments of deputy ministers from DRF-MRF, Gutsanov said that these matters would be discussed at the upcoming meeting of the Joint Governance Council.
