site.btaConcert at Tsarevets Fortress in Veliko Tarnovo to Pay Tribute to Ennio Morricone

Popular film music by Ennio Morricone will be played by the Vratsa Symphony and Italian soloists on July 13 at the Tsarevets Fortress in Veliko Tarnovo, said the organizers on Tuesday. The concert will be part of the Stage of the Ages Summer Opera Season and will be conducted by Hristo Pavlov, with soprano Daniela Placci, pianist Andrea Albertini and violinist Livia Alexandra Hagiu from Le Muse Orchestra arriving from Italy.

Albertini is at the heart of the project, as he has worked with Ennio Morricone in his last years and created a tribute to the famous composer, with which he has already toured and visited a number of international stages. 

The main programme of the Summer Opera Festival will include the premiere of the operetta The Land of Smiles at the Veliko Tarnovo Music and Drama Theatre on July 19, as well as the newest title from the Stara Zagora State Opera called The Pearl Fishers on July 27. The foreign participation includes Chinese Shanghai Kunchiu Opera Company and The Fire of Anatolia from Turkiye.

The Summer Opera Festival is organized by Veliko Tarnovo City Hall, with the support of the Regional History Museum and Municipal Tourist Agency. It is held under the patronage of the Culture Ministry. BTA is the official media partner of the festival.
