site.btaPM: There Is Strong Sentiment about Formation of Coalition between European People’s Party, Socialists, Renew Europe in EP
At the start of a cabinet meeting here on Wednesday, caretaker Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev said that there is a "strong sentiment" about the formation of a coalition between the European People’s Party, the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats and Renew Europe in the European Parliament.
Commenting on an informal meeting of EU leaders in Brussels on June 17, which he attended, Glavchev said that some of the participants in the meeting who are not part of these three parties reacted to the debate but everyone agreed that these three political groups will vote together," the PM added.
Following the European Parliament elections earlier in June, EU leaders started discussions on the next institutional cycle, including EU top jobs. Monday's informal meeting was an opportunity to take stock of the elections and to prepare the ground for decisions at the next EU summit on June 27–28.
