Truck traffic is heavy at some of Bulgaria's border control checkpoints with Romania, Serbia and Turkiye, Border Police said on their website on Thursday. The information is valid as at 6 a.m.
Temporary traffic changes have been introduced across the Danube Bridge at Ruse due to major repairs on the Bulgarian section of the bridge. Traffic is restricted to one lane and is regulated by traffic lights. Drivers can take alternative routes through the checkpoints at Silistra, Kardam, Durankulak, Kaynardzha, and Krushari. The last two of these are closed to heavy-duty trucks and are open to passenger cars from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Traffic is heavy at the Kalotina border checkpoint on the Bulgarian-Serbian border.
On the border with Turkiye, traffic is very heavy at the Kapitan Andreevo border checkpoint and the Lesovo border checkpoint at the exit for trucks, the Border Police reported. Temporarily, traffic through the Malko Tarnovo border crossing will be carried out in one lane due to reconstruction works.
Traffic is normal at the border checkpoints with Greece and the Republic of North Macedonia.
