Traffic is heavy at some of the checkpoints on Bulgaria’s borders with Romania and Greece, the Border Police said on their website. The information is valid as at 6 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Bulgaria’s Border Police recalled that strong wind closed the cross-Danube ferry platform at Oryahovo on Monday. It transpired later in the day that the ferry service is ready to resume operation.

There is busy traffic for trucks exiting this country through the Kardam and Durankulak checkpoints. Temporary traffic changes have been introduced across Danube Bridge at Ruse due to major repairs on the Bulgarian section of the bridge. Traffic is carried out in one lane and is regulated by traffic lights, the Bulgarian border police recalled. Alternative routes can go through the checkpoints at Silistra, Kardam, Durankulak, Kaynardzha, and Krushari. The latter two have working hours from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day and are closed for commercial trucks.

Outbound truck traffic is also heavy at the Kulata checkpoint on the border with Greece. Only cars and vans are allowed to pass at the Makaza, Zlatograd, and Ivaylovgrad border checkpoints.

At the border with Serbia, traffic is normal at all border crossing points. The renovated Kalotina border checkpoint will be opened by caretaker Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev later in the day. The checkpoint’s reconstruction was carried out in two stages in the period 2018 - 2024. It involved renovation and expansion of the routes for trucks and cars and the entire underground and surface infrastructure.

Traffic is normal at all border crossing points at the border with the Republic of North Macedonia.

The implementation of activities under a contract related to the construction of the EU Entry/Exit System started at the Gyueshevo border checkpoint on August 26, the Border Police recalled. The border control booths of the passing trucks will be removed and replaced with new ones. Temporarily, the truck traffic will be redirected through the car routes. Some difficulties may arise when crossing at the Gyuesevo border checkpoint.

Traffic is also normal at all checkpoints at the border with Turkiye.
