The Finnish News Agency (STT) received the European Alliance of News Agencies (EANA) Maxim Minchev Award for 2024. The winning project on the use of artificial intelligence for radio news was presented to participants at the EANA General Assembly in Rome on Friday.
The prize was established in 2005 and is awarded for quality journalism and innovation. In 2021, it was named after the late BTA Director General Maxim Minchev (1953-2020), who, according to EANA, was a "great friend and an important member of the EANA community, always broad-minded and promoting progress and consensus".
EANA has 33 member agencies from across Europe, including BTA and is an organization that deals with the activities of news agencies. Focusing on helping its members in key aspects related to the development of news agencies in particular and the whole media environment in general, EANA also provides know-how and information on the media business to external stakeholders.
