site.btaSecond Edition of Krakra Jazz Fest Opens in Pernik

The second edition of the Krakra Jazz Fest opened here on Friday and will take place at the medieval Krakra Fortress until August 17.

The jazz fest will feature Greek jazz star Lia Hide, who has performed together with world famous bassist Ida Nielsen and the Queen of Jazz Karen Souza during her career. Canadian band The Shuffle Demons will also perform on the first day of the festival, as well as the Jamaican reggae group Black Uhuru.

Hilarious Disasters and the Belgian group KermesZ a l'Est will perform on the second day, with one of the highlights of the festival being the performance of the Cuban pianist, singer and composer Jany McPherson. Immediately after, the Cuban Estudiantina Ensemble will present its traditional Estudiantina, while the Jamaican Brushy One String and the Jambalaya Blues Band from USA will close the festival.

The entrance for all concerts is free.

The Krakra Jazz Fest is organized by the Culture Pernik Foundation, with the assistance of the Pernik Municipality.
