It is necessary to make a platform or a webpage where all the materials about Bulgarians around the world can be uploaded in the media through links, so that when selected, readers can see what has been published in a particular media or place, Anna Terzivets said in the first panel "Bulgarians around the world in the media" at the 19th World Meeting of Bulgarian Media. Terzivets is chief editor of the editorial office for national minorities and host of the Bulgarian-language program The Voice of Bulgarians in the town of Odesa, Ukraine.

She said it was important to have a place where information about Bulgarians abroad, their life, traditions and celebrations could be easily found. "For me as a journalist it is interesting to see visually what is happening and what products we, the media, create for our readers,'' she noted.

''Odesa is interesting not only for its beauty, architecture, sea, but many Bulgarians live here and can be interviewed, can be met, this dialect can be heard, which is nevertheless the Bulgarian language, which is wonderful,'' Terzivets said.

She pointed out that she has been working for 25 years in the field of journalism, and for the last 11 years, every week in one of the central television stations - the national public television Suspilne Odesa, where The Voice of Bulgarians" programme starts with with a greeting in the Bulgarian language to all citizens of Ukraine. Within half an hour it tells who the Bulgarians are, what they do, how they live. This programme has existed for 35 years.

Terzivets said that the heroes of the programme are Bulgarians from different parts of Ukraine. It shows how they live, how they "struggle" on the front, and the topic of war is largely touched upon. The programme is also broadcast on YouTube. "The role of the programme is important and I am happy to be working on it and I am not tired of continuing. We are looking for new approaches, making it more interesting and better, if only people know more about us - who we are, what we do, how we live, what Ukraine supports us for,'' she added.

The Voice of Bulgarians'' team consists of three people, but Terzivets said they need more.

She said that BTA is doing a great job reporting the life of Bulgarians abroad but media presence needs to be even stronger, with more correspondents and more media meetings to raise awareness about expat Bulgarians.

BTA is organizing the 19th World Meeting of Bulgarian Media in Odesa, Bolhrad, and Izmail, Ukraine, from June 18 to June 21, 2024. The event is taking place with the support of Aurubis Bulgaria, A1 Bulgaria, Glavbolgarstroy Holding AD, Euroins Insurance Group, Postbank, SOF Connect, and the 13 Centuries of Bulgaria National Endowment Fund.
