Bulgarian Patriarch Daniil hosted a meeting Thursday with Prince Ghazi bin Muhammad - Chief Advisor to King Abdullah II of Jordan for Religious and Cultural Affairs, member of the official delegation of the King of Jordan, the Bulgarian Patriarchate said. 

During the reception, the traditionally good relations between Bulgaria and Jordan were discussed, as well as the deepening of friendship and cooperation between the two countries. Patriarch Daniil pointed out that Christians are well accepted in Jordan, a country with deep history connected to the events described in the Holy Bible.

Prince Ghazi bin Muhammad extended an official invitation to Patriarch Daniil to visit his country and talked about establishing a Bulgarian pilgrimage center to assist Bulgarians visiting historical and religious sites in Jordan.

Both sides agreed that dialogue and understanding are very important for society development.

After the meeting, Prince Ghazi bin Muhammad visited the Patriarchal Cathedral St. Alexander Nevsky and the Saint Sophia Church, expressing his deep admiration for the architecture of the temples, as well as the history they preserve.

President Rumen Radev welcomed King Abdullah II of Jordan on an official ceremony at St. Alexander Nevsky Square in Sofia on Thursday. After that, the two paid tribute to the Monument of the Unknown Soldier. Later on, the head of State welcomed King Abdullah II of Jordan at the presidential institution.
