GERB, Patriotic Front, Reformist Bloc to Confer on Tuesday in Attempt to Decide How to Vote on Vetoed Provisions of Election Code

Sofia, May 16 (BTA) - GERB, the Patriotic Front (PF) and the Reformist Bloc (RB) will meet on Tuesday in a bid to decide how to vote on the presidential veto of amendments to the Election Code, GERB floor leader Tsvetan Tsvetanov told reporters on Monday.

Last week President Rosen Plevneliev vetoed recently passed amendments to the Election Code which restrict the voting rights of Bulgarians abroad.

Tsvetanov said that each of the political forces in the ruling majority makes compromises intended to avert political destabilization and to ensure that the decisions are made in full consensus among the three parties.

Parliament is to vote on the presidential veto on Wednesday.

Tsvetanov said that the conduct of the PF is much more moderate and constructive than earlier.

Tsvetanov also said that the opposition in Parliament now consists of the Bulgarian Socialist Party, the Movement for Rights and Freedoms, "partially, the Democrats for Strong Bulgaria [part of the RF] with some of their positions", as well as the ABV Movement, which left the ruling coalition last week.
