Tri-Wall Bulgaria, part of the Tri-Wall Group, has been awarded a Class "A" investment certificate for its over BGN 60 million investment in the Trakia Economic Zone (TEZ). The investment will fund the construction of a new corrugated cardboard and packaging plant, and is expected to create 150 new jobs, the Ministry of Innovation and Growth said in a press release on Friday.
Deputy Prime Minister and Innovation and Growth Minister Tomislav Donchev presented the certificate to representatives of Tri-Wall Bulgaria during a ceremony at the ministry.
The certificate, issued under the Investment Promotion Act, grants the investor access to administrative and financial incentives. As part of the state's support, the Ministry of Innovation and Growth has signed agreements with the investor and Maritsa Municipality, where the investment is located, for the development of technical infrastructure. An advance payment of BGN 4 million has been allocated to the municipality to implement the support measure.
"The ministry has done everything possible to support this investment—by securing infrastructure funding, facilitating connections between the investor and institutions, preparing documentation, and holding discussions and meetings. Our collaboration with the Bulgarian Investment Agency and TEZ has made this significant investment a reality, and I believe it will serve as an example for other potential investors from Japan," Donchev stressed.
