The Bulgarian ambassadors to Serbia and Montenegro commemorated 12 Bulgarian children from Svishtov who drowned after their bus plunged into the Lim River 21 years ago on Friday. The diplomats laid wreaths at the memorials built for the kids on both sides of the border river.

Petko Doikov, the Ambassador to Serbia, said Bulgaria will always remember the young victims. He thanked the local people who rescued some of the kids from the bus, and praised them for their courage. He also thanked the institutions for their response to the accident. Furthermore, Doikov expressed gratitude to the municipalities of Prijepolje in Serbia and Bijelo Polje in Montenegro for keeping the memory about the Bulgarian children alive.

The Ambassador to Montenegro, Stefan Dimitrov, thanked the mayors of the two border municipalities who attended the commemoration and laid wreaths at the two memorials.
