site.btaEU New Car Registrations Down in November, Up in Bulgaria
In November 2024, new EU car registrations fell by 1.9%. The battery-electric car market share for November 2024 fell to 15% from 16.3% last year, while volumes dropped by 9.5%, according to the latest data of the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA).
Eleven months into 2024, new car registrations remained stable (+0.4%), reaching 9.7 million units.
In November, there were 869,816 new car registrations in EU countries.
France led the way with a sharp 12.7% decline, followed by Italy (-10.8%), while the German market stagnated slightly (0.5%). Among the four most significant EU markets, only Spain recorded positive growth (6.4%).
In November in Bulgaria there were 3,965 new car registrations, up from 3,470 a year earlier.
New petrol car registrations accounted for the largest share, at 79%. This represents a slight decrease compared to November 2023, when this share amounted to 79.6%.
New diesel car registrations accounted for 12.3%, followed by battery electric vehicles (BEVs), with a 5% share. The share of newly registered hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) was lower at 2.7%, as was the share of plug-in hybrid cars (0.9%).
