site.btaDanube Bridge at Ruse to Reopen to Traffic Ahead of Holiday Season, Repairs to Resume Jan. 8
Traffic in both directions on the renovated section of the Danube Bridge at Ruse will resume at around 1:00 pm on December 20, the Road Infrastructure Agency (RIA) announced on Wednesday.
RIA reported that rehabilitation work on the first 413 meters of the lane heading towards Bulgaria will be completed in time for the upcoming Christmas and New Year holidays, allowing all types of vehicles to cross without restrictions. This reopening aims to provide faster and more comfortable passage for travelers during the busy holiday period.
However, major repairs on the Danube Bridge will resume on January 8 next year. At that time, a 413-meter section of the lane towards Romania will be closed.
RIA clarified that, as before, the main repair work will be carried out without halting traffic completely. Crews will work daily during daylight hours, weather permitting. Traffic will be organized to allow vehicles to pass in both directions on the lane where no construction work is taking place.
