The annual forum of the National Grain Producers Association (NGPA) was unveiled in the seaside resort of Albena on Thursday.
Addressing the event, NGPA Chairperson Iliya Prodanov said that Bulgarian agriculture needs a land reform that will bring security and long-term stability in the relationship between land users and landowners. There is a need for adequate management of water resources so that every farmer has access to water for irrigation, he underscored.
The opening ceremony of the forum was also attended by caretaker Agriculture and Food Minister Georgi Tahov.
The agriculture seminar is dedicated to changes and innovations that aim to develop Bulgarian agriculture. The main highlights are the introduction of new technologies, ecological practices and solutions to tackle climate challenges.
Four panels will discuss the most pressing challenges facing the sector, with each panel combining the perspectives of renowned experts from academia and agricultural innovators who will speak about the problems and needs of Bulgarian agriculture.
