BTA's Reporters Department received an award for objective coverage of aviation issues from the Bulgarian Airlines Association (BAA). The award was presented by Bulgarian Industrial Capital Association (BICA) Chairman Vasil Velev to BTA Director General Kiril Valchev and to Reporters Department Head Ekaterina Panova.
Valchev said that he had been to 192 of the 193 UN member states and noted that thanks to this experience he could tell the similarity between air crews and BTA employees - their names only become known if there is a problem. It is a great honour for BTA that the reporters, like the crews on board, work every day so that people are well informed about aviation business.
Objective reporting is a public duty and the mission of BTA. Every journalist at the agency works every day to uphold this mission, Panova said. She thanked for the award and said she accepted the award on behalf of the entire team. One heart beats with particular enthusiasm for aviation - that of reporter Ivan Lazarov. This award is largely due to his work, Panova noted.
Natalia Gerdzhikova from Nova TV also received an award for objective coverage of aviation themes. Journalists from other media also received awards.
A statuette was awarded to Simeon Idakiev, a man who has visited all countries and continents, a philologist, journalist and traveller.
The award for contribution to the preservation of the historical heritage of Bulgarian civil aviation was given to prof. Boris Bonev. The award is also for the training of personnel for aviation. He also received a diploma from the College of Air Transport.
