GERB Deputy Chair Tsvetanov Attends National Prayer Breakfast in Washington

Washington, D.C., February 5 (BTA) - For a third year running, GERB Party Deputy Chairman and GERB Floor Leader Tsvetan Tsvetanov and GERB MP Plamen Nounev attended the National Prayer Breakfast here on Thursday, GERB said in a press release on Friday. This year, Regional Development and Public Works Minister Liliyana Pavlova also took part in the function.

The Bulgarian officials are in Washington together with their spouses at the invitation of the US Congress, which has hosted the international forum since 1953, the press release specified. The 2016 Breakfast was attended by US congressmen and senators, parliamentarians from various countries, spiritual leaders, politicians and humanitarian workers. US President Barack Obama addressed the participants, saying that "faith is the great cure for fear".

After the National Prayer Breakfast, the Bulgarian delegation continued its working meetings within the framework of the overall schedule, the press release notes.
