National Revenue Agency Reports Lv 1,900 Mln Improvement of Its 2016 Performance from 2015

Sofia, January 13 (BTA) - In 2016, the National Revenue Agency (NRA) collected 14,600 million leva, or 1,900 million leva more than in 2015, NRA Spokesman Rosen Buchvarov told journalists on Friday. The largest increase, of over 900 million leva, was in revenue from value added tax. The social and health insurance contributions collected last year exceeded the 2015 level by more than 500 million. The year-on-year improvement of personal and corporate income tax revenues was 20 million leva and 200 million leva, respectively.

A total of 2,200 tax returns have been submitted since the beginning of the year, including 1,200-plus online, and 80 per cent of the submitters used a personal identification code.

As from January 1, 2017, the minimum monthly health insurance contribution is increased to 18.40 leva, from 16.80 leva before. The health insurance contribution for December, due by January 25, 2016, is unchanged at 16.80 leva, Buchvarov said.
