Employers Walk Out of National Council for Tripartite Cooperation Meeting

Sofia, January 13 (BTA) - Employers on Friday walked out of a meeting of the National Council for Tripartite Cooperation, which also includes the government and the trade unions. It was set to discuss two draft ordinance of the Council of Ministers: on the minimum working wage and the poverty line in 2017.

Employers argued that the meeting was convened in violation of the rules for a five-day notice. In this case the notice was one day, said Vassil Velev of the Association of the Industrial Capital in Bulgaria. The rules should be observed, he added.

According to employers. the short term does not allow for taking into consideration the opinions of all branch organizations and putting forward a position relevant to the new terms.
