Deputy PM Buchvarova: "GERB Should Coalesce with EPP-Affiliated Parties"

Varna, on the Black Sea, January 16 (BTA) - "GERB should seek coalition partners among the parties that are affiliated with the European People's Party (EPP)," outgoing Interior Minister Roumyana Buchvarova said in Varna on Monday.

Buchvarova, who is Deputy Prime Minister for Coalition Policy and member of GERB's Executive Commission, specified that this was her personal position which she expressed in a party poll, whose results GERB will discuss at a forum on January 21 and 22. Buchvarova said that the poll was a good way to review GERB's organizations across the country and their attitudes before the upcoming early elections.

Of the latest polls which show almost equal support for GERB and the Bulgarian Socialist Party, Buchvarova said that the data suggested considerable dynamics. However, speaking as a pollster, she specified that the polls were carried out during the New Year holidays and were not very reliable.
