Energy Ministry, Regulator Will Check Electricity Distribution Companies

Sofia, January 18 (BTA) - The Energy Ministry and the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission will begin joint checks of the three electricity distribution companies, the Ministry said on Tuesday

The checks are prompted by the record-high electricity consumption in the past two months.

Experts will check randomly bills of CEZ, EVN and Energo-Pro customers and inspect the technical facilities of the three companies.

The outgoing Energy Minister Temenouzhka Petkova met with the managers of the three companies. The electricity distribution companies will allow their clients to reschedule bills on certain conditions and will re-check the accuracy of bills.
