Export of  Electricity Resumes

Sofia, February 8 (BTA) - Export of electricity from Bulgaria will resume starting on 01:00 hrs. local time on February 9, the Energy Ministry said.

Export of electricity was limited as of January 13 in order to meet the increased domestic demand for power in the long spell of freezing temperatures and snow in Bulgaria.

The resumption of export of power is in pursuance of an order of caretaker Energy Minister Nikolai Pavlov, in turn prompted by a letter of the Electricity System Operator that the reserves needed for the normal operation of the national power system have been replenished.
