Sofia, October 8 (BTA) - Preliminary seasonally adjusted data
for August show that turnover in retail trade, except for motor
vehicles and motorcycles, increased by 0.4 per cent at
comparable prices from July, the National Statistical Institute
said.

In August the working day adjusted turnover in retail trade,
except for motor vehicles and motorcycles, rose 4.5 per cent
year on year.

In August turnover increased in the retail sale of automotive
fuel by 1.9 per cent, in the dispensing chemist; retail sale of
medical and orthopaedic goods, cosmetic and toiletry articles by
1.3 per cent, and in the retail sale of food, beverages and
tobacco by 0.1 per cent. A decrease was registered in the retail
sale via mail order houses or via the Internet by 1.8 per cent,
in the retail sale in non-specialized stores by 0. 5 per cent,
in the retail sale of textiles, clothing, footwear and leather
goods and in the retail sale of computers, peripheral units and
software; telecommunications equipment by 0.4 per cent each, and
in the retail sale of audio and video equipment; hardware,
paints and glass; electrical household appliances by 0. 2 per
cent.

Compared to a year earlier, in August 2014 turnover increased
more significantly in the retail sale via mail order houses or
via the Internet by 21.0 per cent, in the retail sale of
automotive fuel by 11.1 per cent, in the retail sale of
computers, peripheral units and software; telecommunications
equipment by 5.5 per cent, and in the retail sale of food,
beverages and tobacco by 4.8 per cent. A drop was registered in
the retail sale in non-specialized stores by 4.1 per cent and in
the retail sale of audio and video equipment; hardware, paints
and glass; electrical household appliances by 1.3 per cent.
