Bulgarian Red Cross Helped 4,000 Disaster Victims in 2015

Sofia, May 14 (BTA) - The Bulgarian Red Cross (BRC) helped 4,000 disaster victims around the country in 2015, according to its report delivered at the 65th General Assembly.

In 2015, the BRC provided humanitarian aid to 62,751 people and 452 social and medical treatment facilities, trained 67,331 new drivers, teachers, parents, and childcare workers looking after children under 8 years of age. The BRC also conducted 96 high-mountain rescue operations involving 713 rescuers.

The delegates unanimously adopted the report on activities and spending in 2015 and the reports of the National Control Committee and the Ethics Committee. The plan and budget for 2016 were also approved.
