National Assembly Chair Nataliya Kiselova has expressed her sincere condolences to the families of the victims of the plane crash in Washington, D.C., Parliament's press office reported on Thursday. "I am deeply shocked by the tragic incident near Ronald Reagan Airport in Washington," said Kiselova. "During these difficult moments for the United States, accept my heartfelt sympathy and solidarity with the families and relatives of the passengers and crew," she added.

Kiselova expressed her hope that the causes of the crash would be clarified and that measures would be taken to prevent such horrific accidents in the future.

On Wednesday night, a passenger plane with 64 people on board crashed into the Potomac River in the Washington DC area after colliding mid-air with a US Army helicopter. All 64 people on board the passenger plane and the three aboard the military helicopter are believed to have died, Washington Fire Chiefs was quoted as saying by Associated Press News.
