Investors in Bulgaria are investing in sectors such as technology, including artificial intelligence (AI), biotechnology and cryptocurrencies, while also investing in exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and assets with low volatility, according to an analysis by investment platform Freedom24. The data covers the period from  January 1 2024 to  March 1 2025 and shows the behaviour of Bulgarian investors.

The platform's data shows that while investors are actively trading high-risk assets in sectors such as AI, biotech and cryptocurrencies, they are also using conservative instruments - such as exchange-traded funds and cash equivalents - to hedge uncertainty. This balanced approach reflects the global strategy: seeking growth while effectively managing risk, the analysis says.

Among the most preferred by Bulgarian investors in the field of technology and AI are stocks such as those of NVIDIA, Lam Research and Microsoft. In terms of exchange-traded funds, there is interest in VanEck Semiconductor and Roundhill Magnificent Seven.

In the biotechnology sector, Bulgarian investors prefer companies such as Fusion Pharmaceuticals, Axsome Therapeutics and NeuroPace, as these positions account for nearly half of the most traded individual shares.

In terms of cryptocurrency investments, Bulgarian investors prefer crypto institutions such as CleanSpark and Grayscale Bitcoin Trust.

Among the most preferred exchange traded funds are ProShares Ultra Bloomberg Natural Gas and ProShares UltraShort Bloomberg Natural Gas.

In terms of low volatility assets, Bulgarian investors seek stability in exchange traded funds such as iShares Core S&P 500, iShares 20+ Year Treasury Bond and Lyxor Smart Cash.

"Freedom24 is the European division of NASDAQ-listed Freedom Holding Corp. an international investor group with experience in the US, Europe and Central Asia. The group serves 450,000 clients worldwide and has a market capitalization of approximately $4.8 billion.
