site.btaCompetition Awards Best Youth Startups among 260 Participating Teams

An award ceremony for the Best Youth Startups competition was held at the St Kliment Ohridski University of Sofia on Wednesday. It was organized by the Fund of Funds and Sofia University.
Engineer Dochka Vassileva of the Fund of Funds told BTA that the interest in the competition grows each year, because in addition to the financial awards, it offers opportunities for partnerships and development. The first edition had 35 participating teams, the second had 60, the third had 160, and this year's edition had 260 teams of some 400 people aged between 18 and 29.
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Innovation and Growth Martin Danovski said that entrepreneurship is not a sprint but a marathon; it is a package of personal qualities and skills as well as attitude.
Deputy Minister of Education and Science Tanya Mihaylova said that young people are called to discover and make the world different and better. "Entrepreneurship is a spirit you don't always learn, although more and more eleventh- and twelfth-graders are taking part in the competition, and I want to thank them because they will also be better students," she said.
