A total of 1,875,176 electronic vignettes were sold in the year to April 21, the Road Infrastructure Agency said Thursday. Revenue from these sales amounts to BGN 101,730,971. Annual vignettes are the most popular, with 1,020,489 sold, followed by weekly vignettes 559,478. Also, 155,070 weekend, 116,528 monthly and 23,611 quarterly vignettes were purchased.

As of May 1, the prices of vignettes for vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes increase to BGN 97 for annual vignettes, BGN 54 for quarterly, BGN 30 for monthly, BGN 15 for weekly, and BGN 10 for weekend vignettes.

Until April 30, the prices of vignettes are as follows: the annual vignette is BGN 87, the tquarterly vignette BGN 48, the monthly vignette BGN 27, the weekly vignette BGN 13, and the weekend vignette BGN 9.

The online sales system allows vignettes to be purchased up to 30 calendar days before their activation date. Drivers can take advantage of the lower prices valid until April 30, including for annual vignettes. For instance, if a driver plans to travel on May 24, but their current annual vignette expires a few days earlier, they can buy a new vignette for BGN 87 now with May 24 as the start date.

Drivers can check the validity of their vignettes on www.bgtoll.bg by clicking the Vignette Check button. After entering the vehicle's registration number and the country of registration, the system will display the expiration date of the electronic vignette, regardless of whether it was purchased from Road Infrastructure Agency outlets or from partner retailers. The status can be "active," "expired," or "unused," the last being applicable when a vignette was purchased with a  pre-set start date of up to 30 days from its activation.
