In Burgas, 30 apartment buildings will be renovated for nearly BGN 80 million under the Recovery and Resilience Plan, said Regional Development and Public Works Minister Ivan Ivanov here on Thursday during an inspection of the activities to introduce energy efficiency measures in the Meden Rudnik residential district in the seaside city.
Ivanov, who accompanied Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov during the inspection, pointed out that the delay in the programme has been made up for with the strong commitment of the entire cabinet. "I guarantee that as long as this cabinet is working, it will be this way. I thank the Prime Minister in this regard, as this is a team game," Ivanov said.
He recalled that the second stage of the programme for housing renovation with state funds begins in 2025, which in his words means that many more Bulgarian citizens will have the opportunity to energy-renew their homes. "Saving electricity and energy sources is very important, especially in this geopolitical situation, in which the fight for resources is extremely tense," Ivanov stressed. He appealed to the mayors of other settlements to be more expeditious in terms of processing documents and selecting contractors, so that the results of Burgas can become a reality throughout the country as soon as possible.
