site.btaPM, Ministers of Labour, Economy Attend Opening of Nestle Bulgaria's New Production Line
Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov, Minister of Labour and Social Policy Borislav Gutsanov, and Minister of Economy and Industry Peter Dilov attended the official opening of a new production line of Nestle Bulgaria here on Tuesday. The new, third production line of the chocolate factory in Sofia will increase the company's capacity to 15,000 tonnes a year, exported to 18 international markets, the Labour Ministry said in a press release.
The investment is worth BGN 82 million and will provide 70 new jobs. The factory in Sofia employs over 1,000 people.
With the expansion of production facilities, Bulgaria is establishing itself as an innovation hub for Nestle in Europe. The company's management team praised the strategic partnership with Bulgarian state institutions and expressed hope that it will continue to contribute to the development of the country's economy and society in the coming decades, the press release reads.
