Central Bank to Auction Seven-Year Government Securities Worth BGN 300 Mln April 14

The Bulgarian National Bank (BNB) will hold an auction for the sale of seven-year government securities worth BGN 300 million on April 14, the central bank said on its website on Tuesday.

The securities carry an interest coupon of 3.25% and mature on January 29, 2032.

This will be the eighth government securities auction of the year, following the launch of the issuance programme on January 20, 2025.

On April 7, the Finance Ministry reopened a three-year BGN-denominated government securities issue originally offered at the January 20 auction, according to the Ministry’s website. The securities carry an annual interest coupon of 2.75% and mature on January 22, 2028.

The volume of the issue in circulation was increased by BGN 500 million at the auction held on April 7, reaching a nominal value of BGN 1 billion. The annual weighted average yield reported at the auction was 2.88%.

The total subscribed amount reached BGN 971.9 million, which corresponds to a bid-to-cover ratio of 1.94. The spread reported as against the analogous German Bunds was 100 basis points, the Finance Ministry added.
